The sound of water changes a garden, a courtyard or a hotel entrance. A marble fountain adds that sound and a piece of carving that looks good even when the water is off. Here is how we help customers choose the right one.
1. How many tiers?
A tiered fountain has bowls stacked one above the other, and the water falls from one to the next. More tiers mean a taller fountain and more sound. A three-tier fountain suits an open garden or the centre of a courtyard. A single bowl or a carved lotus top suits a smaller corner or a veranda.
2. With lights or without?
Lights make a fountain the centre of the garden after sunset. In our LED-lit fountain, the lights sit in the basin and the bowls, and the colours change as the water falls. If the fountain is mostly seen by day, plain white marble is often enough.
3. Measure your space
Measure the place where the fountain will stand, and leave room to walk around it. Look at it from where people will usually see it: the gate, a window or a sitting area. Send us the measurements and a photo of the spot, and we'll suggest a size that fits.
4. Water and power
A fountain recycles the same water with a small pump, so it needs a power point nearby and a way to top up the water. Plan the wiring before the garden is finished, so that cables can be hidden. We'll confirm pump and lighting details with you when you order.
5. Simple care
- Top up the water regularly, especially in summer.
- Clean the basin and bowls from time to time so leaves and algae don't build up.
- In places where it freezes, drain the fountain in winter.
- Wipe the marble with a soft cloth and plain water; avoid acid-based cleaners.
